Indian Desserts Recipe – A sweet and slightly crunchy dessert that will help you meet your calcium requirement. Everyone, from children to adults, needs calcium, but the amount of soft milk alone cannot be increased. The combination of milk with nutritious and delicious fruits like apples and other flavor enhancers like brown sugar creates a wholesome dessert without compromising on taste.

- 3 cups sliced apples
- 3 tbsp custard powder
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 2 cups milk
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
Combine the custard powder, 2 tbsp sugar and 1 tbsp milk in a deep bowl and mix well till a smooth mixture forms.
Heat the remaining milk in a non-stick pan, add the prepared custard mixture, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 2 minutes or till the mixture thickens, while stirring occasionally. Keep aside.
Combine the apples, the remaining 1 tablespoon of sugar and ½ cup of water in a non-stick pan, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes till the apples become soft.
Spread the cooked apple slices evenly on the baking dish and spread the prepared custard over it.
Sprinkle brown sugar over it and bake in a pre-heated oven at 200°c (400°f) for 15 minutes.
When the sugar topping becomes crispy, serve it lightly hot.
- While cooking the custard, keep stirring it continuously otherwise it may stick to the pan or lumps may form.
- You can use peaches or pears instead of apples.
