  • 6-8 bacon rashers, rinds removed
  • 1 ciabatta loaf or french baguette
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 tbsp light olive oil
  • 2 tomatoes, sliced
  • 25 gms rocket leaves
  • 1 tbsp dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • A squeeze of tomato ketchup
  • for seasoning Salt & freshly ground black pepper


1.Cut the bread into three equal lengthwise and horizontally.

2.Crack the eggs into a mixing bowl, add the milk, season well, and carefully beat.

3.Place the bread, cut side down, in the eggy mixture on a big platter. Let for a minute of soaking before turning over.

4.Heat a large frying pan over medium heat, add the oil, and cook the bacon until crisp. Remove and thoroughly drain on kitchen paper.

5.Fry your eggy bread next. Cook for 1-2 minutes over medium heat, cut side down, until each piece is golden brown. Cook for another minute on the other side.

6.Stand the bread on a dish and sprinkle the ketchup on the bottom pieces.

7.Layer on a layer of tomato, then bacon, then rocket leaves.

8.Finish by putting the Dijon mustard and mayo on top of the eggy bread pieces and assembling everything together. Serve immediately after cutting at an angle.

Here’s an Italian classic: baked focassia bread with herbs, rosemary, and black olives on top. Focaccia bread is a traditional Italian flat bread that is topped with herbs.

  • 2 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp reg sugar
  • 3 cups flour/atta
  • 1 3/4 cup lukewarm water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 Tbsp olive oil
  • 3/4 tsp chopped fresh rosemary or 1/2 tsp dried
  • 1/3 cup kalmata olives pitted and cut into circles


1.Begin by measuring the temperature of your lukewarm water. The temperature should be 45 degrees Celsius or 110 degrees Fahrenheit.

2.Place sugar in a measuring cup. Add yeast to 3/4 cup warm water at the proper temperature. It should begin to bubble.

3.Set aside for 10 minutes the water and yeast mixture. Now mix in the sugar.

4.Mix the salt and rosemary into the 3 cups flour with your fingertips. Mix in 1.5 tbsp olive oil. Serve with sliced olives. Mix using your hands.

5.Add the yeast mixture to the flour, along with the remaining water, and knead to form a smooth dough ball, adding flour as required.

6.In a bowl, combine 1 tablespoon olive oil and spread it all over the dough ball. Wrap this bowl and the dough ball with plastic wrap.

7.Keep it in a warm location for an hour to double in size. Take out, roll, and punch all the air out.

8.Roll into a good pizza sheet with holes. Cling film once more and place in a warm location for 30 minutes.

9. Let it to climb even higher. Now, open 1 tablespoon olive oil and massage it in (to get a nice crispy finish).

10.Make holes in the focaccia with your fingers and garnish with black olives or herbs.

11.Place in the centre rack of a 220°C oven for 35 to 40 minutes. Let to cool for 10 minutes before serving.

3. Bread Dahi Vada Recipe

Replace the traditional with some bread! Here’s an innovative variation on the traditional dahi vada dish. This one has bread crumbs and cottage cheese in it.

  • 10 Bread slices
  • 200 gram Curd
  • To fry Oil
  • to taste Salt and black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp Aamchoor powder
  • Mint leaves, chopped
  • A pinch of Zeera powder
  • 1 tbsp Anardana


1.Cut off the brown piece of each slice.

2.Soak and press them in water.

3.Mix the mashed paneer with the moistened bread slices.

4.Add a sprinkle of salt and amchoor to taste. Form tiny balls, flatten, and deep fried till light brown.

5.Remove from oil and soak for 10 minutes in warm water. Set aside after squeezing.

6.Mix the curd. Then season with salt and chilli powder. Decorate the vadas with mint, jeera powder, and pomegranates.


4. Banana Oat Bread Recipe

A no-fuss recipe that combines bananas, oats, and whole wheat flour. This will thrill everyone. A delicious home-cooked meal full of oat deliciousness!

  • 1 1/2 Cup Whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup Oatmeal flour
  • 3 Ripe bananas
  • 3/4 cup Dark brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup Extra light virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp Vanilla essence
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/2 tsp Baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp Baking soda
  • A pinch of Salt
  • To garnish Walnuts, chopped


1.Preheat the oven to 180° Celsius.

2.In a mixing basin, combine all of the dry ingredients (Whole wheat flour, oatmeal, baking powder, baking soda, salt,sugar).

3.In a mixing basin, combine all of the wet ingredients (Mashed ripe bananas, Egg, vanilla essence, olive oil).

4.Incorporate the dry components into the wet ingredients.

5.Lightly grease a baking sheet with olive oil.

6.Pour the banana bread batter into the prepared baking pan. Sprinkle with your favourite nuts. (I used coarsely chopped walnuts).

7.Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 50-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the centre comes out clean.

8.Serve either warm or cold.

5. Stuffed Vegetable Bread Recipe

  • For the bread:
  • 2 cups flour (atta or maida)
  • 2 tsp yeast
  • 1/2 warm water to knead
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp sugar

  • 3 cheese slices
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 1/2 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 capsicum, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 tsp garlic
  • 1 tsp basil
  • 5-6 olives
  • 1 egg white, beaten
  • Sesame seeds


1.Combine water and yeast in a mixing basin. Let it to stand for a minute.

2.Combine the salt and sugar.

3.Combine the flour and olive oil.

4.Make a dough out of it. If necessary, add extra water.

5.Cover it with cling film and set it aside to rest and double in a draught-free location.

6.This should take around 1-1 1/2 hours.

7.After the dough has doubled in size, roll it out into a thickish circle the size of a pizza.

  • 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 onion, peeled and chopped
  • 2 green chillies, seeded and chopped
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp sugar (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 Tbsp yogurt
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 4 slices bread, cubed
  • Fresh coriander leaves, to garnish
  • 1 tomato, chopped


1.In a small saucepan, heat the oil and add the mustard seeds. When they’ve popped, add the onion and chilies and cook for a minute.

2.Fry for 1 minute more after adding the turmeric, sugar, cumin, and salt. Pour in the yoghurt and lemon juice while constantly stirring.

3.Finally, delicately fold in the bread so that it does not crumble too much.

4.Cook for 2 minutes more, then serve topped with coriander and sliced tomato.

7. Garlic Cheese Bread Recipe

Well cooked French bread glazed with butter, garlic, cheese, and pepper.

  • 1 French bread (crusty)
  • 100 gms butter
  • 1 tsp garlic paste
  • 1/2 cup cheese, grated

1.Slice the bread diagonally, not all the way through to the bottom, at 1″ intervals.

2.Mix together the butter, garlic, cheese, and pepper.

3.Apply to each slice.

4.Wrap in foil and bake in a very hot oven for 10 minutes.

8. Tempered Bread Vagharia Recipe

When you’re short on time and have a hungry junta to feed, this is the dish to make. All you need for this dish is a couple slices of bread, ordinary spices, tomatoes, and curry leaves.

  • 1 tomato – finely chopped
  • 2 stalks of curry leaves
  • 3 green chillies – chopped 1/2 a cup of sprouts

  • 1/4 tsp cumin
  • 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp asafoetida powder
  • 1/2 lemon, juice extracted
  • salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • coriander leaves – for garnishing


1.Using your hands, roughly crumble bread pieces.

2.Sprinkle the bread with chilli powder, turmeric, and salt.

3. Gently mix with your hands and set aside.

4.Heat the oil in a big pan, add the seeds and asafoetida, and let to sputter.

5.Combine the chiles, curry leaves, tomatoes, and moong sprouts.

6.Stir and sauté for 2-3 minutes before adding the lemon juice.

7.Add bread and sesame seeds and gently combine with spice mixture.

8. Garnish with coriander leaves.

9.Serve hot and immediately.

9. Bread Pudding Recipe

Bread, milk, raisins, and marmalade combine to make a delectable custard. You’ll never get enough of this.

  • 2 eggs
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 to 1 1/12 cup milk
  • Raisins
  • 4-5 bread slices, cut in cubes
  • 2 -3 tsp marmalade


1.In a basin, crack two eggs.

2.Whisk them until they are fluffy.

3.Combine the sugar, essence, and milk. Combine thoroughly. Garnish with raisins.

4.Cube bread pieces and line a steaming plate with them.

5.Spread the mixture on top of the bread.

6.Drizzle with marmalade.

7.Now set the dish on a steamer and immerse it in boiling water for 10 minutes.

8.Alternatively, you may bake it for 5-7 minutes.
