Selection Process

In July 2023, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will officially announce the Junior Engineer (JE) selection procedure. Three steps make up the SSC JE 2023 selection process:

  • SSC JE 2023 Paper 1 Exam is the first stage.
  • SSC JE 2023 Paper 2 Exam, Stage 2.
  • Stage 3: Document verification for SSC JE 2023

Candidates must successfully complete each of the three selection phases in order to be eligible for the SSC JE 2023. The SSC JE Paper 1 and SSC JE Paper 2 are computer-based exams that solely include multiple-choice questions of the objective kind. Selection Process – Paper 1

  • The first and most important part of the SSC JE 2023 test is Paper 1.
  • Three components of the SSC JE 2023 Paper 1 objective-type test—general knowledge, general awareness, and general engineering for civil, electrical, and mechanical engineering—are included.
  • SSC JE 2023 Paper 1 has a 2-hour time limit.

To move on to the next round of the SSC JE 2023 selection process, candidates must pass the SSC JE Paper 1 exam.

Note:

  • The General Engineering component (component-A, Part-B, or Part-C) in Papers I and II, which the candidates have chosen based on their educational qualifications in the online application form, must be taken by them. In other words, in order to be considered for the position of Junior Engineer (Civil), candidates must attempt Part-A (Civil & Structural) of Paper-I and Paper-II, while candidates for Junior Engineer (Electrical) must attempt Part-B (Electrical) and candidates for Junior Engineer (Mechanical) must attempt Part-C (Mechanical) of Paper-I and Paper-II.
  • Only Objective Type, Multiple Choice Questions will be in Papers I and II. Both Hindi and English will be used to set the questions.
  • For each incorrect response in Papers I and II, there will be a negative marking equivalent to one-third of the marks assigned to the question.
  • For Paper II only, candidates are permitted to bring their own Slide-Rule, Calculator, Logarithm Table, and Steam Table. They are not permitted to use these tools for Paper I.

The SSC JE 2023 selection procedure requires qualified applicants who passed the Tier 1 and Tier 2 examinations to show up for document verification in order to advance.
