  • 1 teaspoon Ginger paste or freshly grated or crushed
  • 1 Green chili chopped finely
  • ⅓ cup Red onion chopped
  • ¼ teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • ½ teaspoon Red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1-2 teaspoons Lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Cilantro or coriander leaves finely chopped

  • 1 Tomato sliced
  • 1 small Red onion sliced
  • 12 slices Bread
  • Butter as needed
  • 1 batch Green chutney
  • 2 tablespoons Sandwich masala
  • Tomato Ketchup to serve on side
  • 1 cup Nylon sev for garnishing

HOW TO MAKE IT

  1. On medium heat, warm up the oil in the pan. Add the mustard seeds after they are heated and watch them sputter. Next, add the cumin seeds and allow them to start to sizzle.
  2. Add the chopped green chilies and the ginger paste now. Cook for 30 to 40 seconds, or until the raw ginger scent has disappeared.
  3. Add the minced onions, a pinch of salt, and stir. Onions should be cooked until they are tender, transparent, or pale pink.
  4. Add the remaining salt, red chili powder, and turmeric powder afterward. Mix thoroughly.
  5. Add the potatoes and peas right away. Mix everything thoroughly, mashing a few potatoes with the back of the spatula.
  6. Add the just-chopped cilantro now.
  7. Add some lemon (or lime) juice, then stir thoroughly. As required, taste and adjust the salt and lemon. You can add a small amount of sugar to balance the flavor if the lemon juice causes the masala to become too acidic.

Making Masala Toast Sandwich:

  1. Keep all the components prepared on the counter before you start putting the sandwiches together.
  2. On all four pieces of bread, apply butter. Spread the green chutney next.
  3. Now equally sprinkle 2-3 teaspoons of masala on two pieces of bread.
  4. Set the vegetables—tomato, cucumber, and onion—in order. Top with sandwich masala powder.
  5. Add another slice of bread to complete the sandwich. Place the sandwich toast butter-side down in the toaster. Once again, butter the bread, and then shut the toaster.
  6. Make two more sandwiches and keep them prepared while these two are toasting. Cook them until they are crisp and golden brown on both sides.
  7. Cut it into four pieces and remove it to a platter. Ketchup and green chutney should be spread on top of the butter. Next, top with a little sandwich masala and nylon sev. Before it becomes mushy, serve it right away.
